Registry Cleanup Utilities?

What is a really good registry cleanup utility? The thing is that I uninstalled some programs from my computer and they still keep showing up in the Startup tab under the Microsoft Configuration Utility. They are stubborn and won’t go away, even when I uncheck them. The computer still tries to look for them and slows down the startup process. I even tried going into the Registry itself and deleting those entries, but they just will not go away! What can I do to change that or what program can I use to wipe those programs from the registry?
I use TuneUp Utilities 2007. The registry cleaner for that program picks them up also but can’t delete them either.. 🙁

You can try C Cleaner. I’ve used this various times and you can download it for free from CNET.

You’ll have to go to "start"…"Run" and type in MSCONFIG
When the windows pops up go to the "startup" and "services" tabs…and uncheck anything to do with that programs…Click Apply….system will want to reboot….reboot….a window will appear saying you made changes to the startup……put a checkmark in the small box bottom left…your done.

What I do for cleaning my system out regularly is
    XP Users http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/defau

    Vista Users http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/cente
Just do the quick scan after you select the full scanner

    Cheers
