How I can create registry back-up’s everytime when I run spybot ?

January 6th, 2013 3 comments

I want to run spybot but before that I want to make sure if I have back up of registry (just incase), how I do it ?
Further, when I delete the problems (traced by spybot), If I uncheck the box, I hope it will not delete that particular problem?

Here are three options:

Click on START – RUN and type: Regedit (press ENTER). On the menu bar click on file, then export, choose where you want to save it, then enter a name for it in the box titled: File Name. At bottom put a tick in "All", then click on save. If you ever want to restore the saved version, just IMPORT it.
System Restore (it should save a copy daily, but you can always create a restore point manually.
The best method, in my opinion, is to download and run ERUNT. It’s the best registry backup utility available – and it’s free!!!

How can i fix a corrupted/damaged registry?

December 29th, 2012 5 comments

What is a registry(first of all)?.I have been getting messages popping up saying my registry was damaged/corrupted and that i need to go to this site or another to download this or scan in order to fix it, (though not since they originally did one night, only once) one after another and until i disconnected the internet. I was wondering is this legit? If so, how may i fix this damaged/corrupted registry. I’m running on windows. Help would be appreciated.

It is definitely not legit..

Registry is the vital part of any Windows-based systems. It contains settings of your system and third party applications installed. In most cases, windows won’t boot up properly or may not boot up at all if the registry has been damaged. You have to restore it from a backup (if there is one) or worst rebuild the whole system.

However in your situation, it does not seem to be a corrupted registry but spyware infestation or purely a series of pop-ups as a result of popup blocker being disabled. As advised by others, best way is to not worry about your registry but to enable the built in popup blocker and then run a number of spyware/adware utilities (combination of adaware and spybot search & destroy has been proven to be effective). If problem still persists after, you may want to post back.

Good luck…

How can I make my computer faster on startup?

December 27th, 2012 6 comments

Hi, my computer is incredibly slow on startup, I don’t know what to do anymore. There are not too many apps, I have no viruses, 50% free memory, I use Registry Easy and CCleaner daily but my computer still takes about 30 minutes after I open my session until it is ready to operate. Does someone know how to speed it up without adding RAM or Formatting my PC?

There are lots of problems which make your pc slow.
Microsoft Registry Problems = Slow Computer!
Spyware/Adware
RAM
De-Fragmenting
Etc.

Below can help you speed up your pc:

I. De-Fragmenting
1. Right click of C Disk.
2. Click properties.
3. Click tools tab.
4. Click "Defragment now".
5. Click Defragment.

II. You can search which process full use you cpu, and end the process.
Under steps:
1. Right click on the TaskBar.
2. Click the Task Manager.
3. Click the processes tab.
4. Double click the CPU.
5. Fnd if the "System Idle Process" is max.
6. If not right click and click end process.

III. Manage your startups. Your excess CPU usage is due to too many programs running in the background. You can cut these to barebones by alter your msconfig. Here is how:
1. Open your Start menu.
2. Click Run
3. In the command screen type "msconfig.exe"
4. In the "system configuration utility",click either "service" or "startup" tab
5. Uncheck all programs that your are no longer using.

Where can I find a utlity to transfer installed software applications from one disk drive to another?

December 25th, 2012 2 comments

I have a number of installed software applications on my C:\ drive that I do not use regularly and I want to move them to another hard disk drive with more space. I remember Partition Magic had a utility to move installed software applications, but when I recently looked, I could not the function. I does not appear as part of the Norton Distribution.

I have looked at Laplink, but that is more suited to transferring installed software applications from one computer to another.

As a result, can some suggest a utility that I can purchase to do this?

You can simply use norton ghost. so you can make same copy of your harddisk to another harddisk or one partation to another partation.

Norton Ghost is a great utility to copy everything(installed) from a small/big hard drive to another big/small harddrive, but you have to use it carefully because if you done mistake to choose source and destination then you will be screwwwwed up.

Application Mover is a tool that relocates installed programs from one path to another on your hard disk. Application Mover takes files found in the path specified in the ‘Current Path’ field (see below) and moves them to the ‘New Path’ path. Application Mover scans the windows registry for references to files located in the ‘Current’ field and changes those references to the ‘New’ path. Application Mover also scans all windows shortcuts in the Start Menu and adjusts path references to the new program location. Finally, *.ini and Install.log files present in the original program path are checked for strings matching the old path location. If found, these strings are changed to the new location.

you can download from below link

How to fix registry in windows xp?

December 23rd, 2012 2 comments

After getting the system fix virus and getting the computer working again I can’t get to all of my programs that are still shown as being in the computer. I used RegCur and it said that I have registry problems that needed to be fixed. How do I do that with out paying for them to fix that. I suspect that they my be the ones that started the virus in the first place.

You could use either Ccleaner or Glary Utilities to fix your registry.

You might end up having to reinstall the OS at any rate, mind you.

How can I tell whether a program on my PC has been installed?

December 17th, 2012 3 comments

I have a new PC (with Vista) that came with some pre-loaded programs that I would like to get rid of (NetZero, Earthlink, etc.). They are not listed in the add/remove programs utility, or in the program list. If they were not installed, can I remove them completely by just deleting their folders? How can I tell whether they were installed? I would like to remove all traces of those programs and start with a clean computer.

Installed programs are located in the registry here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\
Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths

Using "Revo Uninstaller" will remove the registry keys.
After the program is uninstalled you can safely delete the program files.

Is a registry cleaner really necessary? If so suggestions for the best one?

I get the ads for the registry cleaner and wondered if they are worth it.

Registry cleaners will clean your registry, increasing performance slightly, but also making your system less prone to crashes.

These programs can help you clean your registry for free. I personally like CCleaner and Advanced WindowsCare Personal because they do more than just clean my registry.

1) CCleaner is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system – allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. CCleaner also fixes your registry. But the best part is that it’s fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware.

2) Advanced WindowsCare Personal is a comprehensive PC care utility that takes a one-click approach to help protect, repair, and optimize your computer.

3) Eusing Free Registry Cleaner is a free registry repair software that allows you to safely clean and repair registry problems.

4) Registry Distiller is a free registry cleaner that will optimize your system by removing obsolete and incorrect information from the registry, resulting in a faster computer that is less prone to errors.

5) TweakNow RegCleaner Standard is a free registry cleaner that will scour your system’s registry for useless/unneeded registry entries and optionally remove these for you. These entries are often left behind after the removal of software, cluttering the registry and possibly hindering your system’s overall performance.

What is malware called that interferes with your ability to write an email and how do I defend against it?

December 10th, 2012 2 comments

It apparently is not a virus, because virus protection programs do not detect it. It is not listed in a registry scan. It might be in temp files or something to do with temp files, because when I clean my disk, the situation normally goes away.

there are many types of malware which can interface with your ability to write an email
