im changing the brakes on my car and need help?

January 10th, 2013 Leave a comment Go to comments

can i get step by step instructions to change the brakes on an ‘s’reg hyundai accent.i can’t get the flange to come off no matter what i do.ive changed dozens of brakes before but these are proving a real nightmare.any suggestions?

the best idea on this one would be to get a Haynes repair manual on that car,it will cover all the basics on doing that ,they cost around 15 bucks but their worth that and more, and they also have real good pics of doing the job also,i use them around the shop because of the info they have in them,it helps a lot to know whats ahead of you on a job like this, good luck with it.

"Flange" is not a standard term for brake repair to my knowledge. You remove the caliper and rotor or you remove the drum and shoes. Maybe you mean you can’t get the rear drum off? Be more specific. Release the parking brake and use a crow bar to lever the rear drum off the brake shoes. Early Hondas need a special tool to remove the front rotors.
