How do I register a car without title in MD?
I bought a salvaged car earlier this year without a title. I have repaired it and it is now in good shape but I do not have the title to the car. Is there anything I can do to get the car legally on the road in State of Maryland?
Without a title you don’t own the car…. meaning you don’t register.

You NEVER buy a car without getting a title. How do you know the guy or gal or business that sold it to you actually owned it? Can you contact the former "owner"? If so, that’s a start. If not, good luck!

You will have to go to the Maryland DMV. When you buy a vehicle and rebuild it, the State has State Inspection Stations that will do a thorough inspection on the car to make sure that it is mechanically sound and meets all current Safety Laws and then they will sign off on it and you then apply for the Title. The Title WILL be marked Salvaged, and that will remain on the Title no matter how many times the vehicle may be sold or re-registered in the future.
It is a pretty daunting process, and usually Auto Shops do it and they know what they are doing. A private individual, you may have it fail the Inspection and have to repair something else and then take it for Re-Inspection.
Hang In There

Did you get a salvage certificate or bill of sale when you purchased it? If so you will have to go to the DMV and make an appointment to have them inspect the vehicle to make sure it is roadworthy(safe) and then you would apply for a salvage title and registration. There will be fees and taxes due at that time. Good Luck
