Is there anyway to register statutory write-off vehicle in NSW?

I am interested in buying a damaged vehicle which is minor flood damaged and repairable but since the new law in NSW (no more repairable write-off) it is statutory write-off.
The market value is above $100,000 and built in 2009. I know there is exemption for high market value but I do not own the vehicle so not sure whether this exemption applies in this case…..
Is there any way to get a permission to repair and register?
