Is it bad to have more than 2 computer maintenance programs installed at once?

December 10th, 2012 1 comment

I have TuneUp Utilities 2010 and Uniblue Powersuit 2010 installed on my computer. So is it like having 2 anti virus program where they interfere with each other or is it ok? I just want to keep my computer running as good as possible.
BTW, which one (TuneUp or Uniblue) is better?

Well, not really. If you use both application for tweaking, every tweak you make will be reflected to the other program as they only have one source, the REGISTRY.

How to completely remove tuneup utilities ?

December 8th, 2012 3 comments

I have installed Tuneup Utilities. Than I removed from my computer by using ‘Your Uninstaller pro". After I want to re install TuneUp Utility, it shows me ‘you have already installed a latest Version of tuneup’ . I am already try ‘Revo Un-installer’ and Perfect Uninstaller. And most important matter is I have deleted all file from ‘c’ Drive and Stat menu’.Now please help me by using your’s intelligent brain.
Thank you

There’s probably some leftovers in the Windows Registry which the ‘Your Uninstaller Pro’ didn’t remove. You should have used Revo Installer in the first place. Unfortunately, no other uninstaller can find them as the main program had bee removed already. Try running Regedit and see if you can find traces of Tuneup Utilities under the Software section. I’m not familiar with Tuneup Utilities so I can’t tell you exactly where to look.

what is the best defrager and Registry Repair?

December 3rd, 2012 6 comments

and will you give me the site for a trail version..ive heard that Advanced System Optimizer is the best but theres no trail version..oh ye i have TuneUp Utilities 2009 on my laptop already so do i even need the others
ye i have them to already instaled there good but i want the best so i dont mind paying for them

Defraggler and CCleaner both made by Piriform (both free programs).

CCleaner is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system – allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. CCleaner also fixes your registry. But the best part is that it’s fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware.

There’s no point to pay for a defrager. The increase in performance will be hardly noticeable. The best thing you can do is to increase your RAM.

How to completely remove TuneUp Utilities 2011?

July 30th, 2011 2 comments

Hi,
1 month ago, i installed TuneUp Utilities 2011 to my computer and then i unistalled it through the control panel. When I try to reinstall a message pops up saying that a more recent version is already installed. I deleted every folder and shortcut of TuneUp Utilities 2011 but still the same problem. I tried to use Your Uninstaller but TuneUp is not being found. I also tried to remove it from the registry. Any ideas?

Install the ‘revo uninstaller’ software:
it checks out every files in ur system, and deletes it with ur wishes
it has many options for uninstalling. so better check it out.
even i had same problem with my locker.

TuneUp Utilities 2010 Registry Defrag black screen?

July 14th, 2011 1 comment

Ok, I ran the TuneUp Utilities 2010 registry defrag on my dads computer, and it needed to optimize. I try to restart the computer afterwards, but all I get is the white flashing underscore, after the Acer logo where it tells you to press F2 to access setup (BIOS Settings). I am not sure why it is not restarting, but I think it is because the defrag messed it up? I may need to install a different operating system, but as of now, I think that may be my only option. Please help

Hmm, that’s an odd result and one we’ve never heard before. Did your dad’s PC have a virus or a hardware problem? If the PC is ok and virus free, then follow these instructions to set everything right again. This will get a bit technical but it’s really not that difficult and we’ll walk you through it.

Since TuneUp Utilities just runs an analysis of your Windows registry, the defragmentation itself runs on a boot version of Windows (the same pipe in which Windows would run a ChkDsk, for example).

Depending on the operating system you are using, you should try the repair and recovery function from your OS’s original CD. This will let you edit the registry, remove the boot, and execute the entry of TuneUp Utilities. If the TuneUp Utilities’ boot application is causing the problem, this should fix the issue. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

Open this path in registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager
Check the value of BootExecute (it should look like autocheck autochk *)
Remove anything else entered in this value and reboot

If this doesn’t solve the problem, it most likely isn’t TuneUp Utilities, but contact our tech support directly and we’ll try to help you anyway.

What is Tuneup Utilities and why is it in my registry?

I have never downloaded this program or find a trace of it anywhere else. anything to do with CCleaner?

Hi,

First of check whether you alone use the system, or any of your family members could be using it.
Second check whether you installed any software recently it could have come as a freeware with it.

TuneUp Utilities is a system utility software which actually helps you to maintain the system with ease. This software always works from registry because it takes control of whole system it maintains log, we can change boot screen, have visual effects, etc. and of course the maintenance,
removal, cleaning, etc.

CCleaner has no purpose to do with Tuneup Utilities, until they dont have a tie up between them.
I havent heard any such news until now.

Good Luck

Please tell me which one to use. I do not want to try all of them making the problems bigger hoping to fix them. I have these 4 softwares and all of them have pretty good resumes.
I was using ccleaner+tuneup+registry easy at the same time and here is the problems: 1.whenever I try to create desktop shortcuts, shortcut names appears with an extra stuff like "shortcut for blablabla" instead of "blablabla".
2.some errors appeared for bluetooth driver etc.
3. and may be some extra trouble that I do not notice
I’m not sure which of them is creating this problem. Which one should I fire? Please help me.

does having 2 registry cleaning softwares on a computer affect it?

December 30th, 2010 2 comments

i know that having 2 anti-virus softwares can affect the computer but does 2 registry cleaning softwares affect a computer? oh, and which software is better – registry easy or tuneup utilities 2009?

No because the registry cleaners are not running like the anti-virus programs so. The registry cleaners run when you want them to or they may be running just to monitor changes. I use three different registry cleaning apps (one at a time) and never had a problem.

Registry cleaner from TuneUp Utilities?

Is it good and safe?cuz u know registry is a very sensitive part in windows and I’m afraid to mess with it.

CCleaner is just a registry cleaner, it won’t defrag or optimize your windows registry cleaner. I personally use Uniblue (Microsoft Gold Partners) Registry Cleaner http://www.liutilities.com/products/registrybooster/
