Where can I find a utlity to transfer installed software applications from one disk drive to another?

December 25th, 2012 2 comments

I have a number of installed software applications on my C:\ drive that I do not use regularly and I want to move them to another hard disk drive with more space. I remember Partition Magic had a utility to move installed software applications, but when I recently looked, I could not the function. I does not appear as part of the Norton Distribution.

I have looked at Laplink, but that is more suited to transferring installed software applications from one computer to another.

As a result, can some suggest a utility that I can purchase to do this?

You can simply use norton ghost. so you can make same copy of your harddisk to another harddisk or one partation to another partation.

Norton Ghost is a great utility to copy everything(installed) from a small/big hard drive to another big/small harddrive, but you have to use it carefully because if you done mistake to choose source and destination then you will be screwwwwed up.

Application Mover is a tool that relocates installed programs from one path to another on your hard disk. Application Mover takes files found in the path specified in the ‘Current Path’ field (see below) and moves them to the ‘New Path’ path. Application Mover scans the windows registry for references to files located in the ‘Current’ field and changes those references to the ‘New’ path. Application Mover also scans all windows shortcuts in the Start Menu and adjusts path references to the new program location. Finally, *.ini and Install.log files present in the original program path are checked for strings matching the old path location. If found, these strings are changed to the new location.

How to completely remove tuneup utilities ?

December 8th, 2012 3 comments

I have installed Tuneup Utilities. Than I removed from my computer by using ‘Your Uninstaller pro". After I want to re install TuneUp Utility, it shows me ‘you have already installed a latest Version of tuneup’ . I am already try ‘Revo Un-installer’ and Perfect Uninstaller. And most important matter is I have deleted all file from ‘c’ Drive and Stat menu’.Now please help me by using your’s intelligent brain.
Thank you

There’s probably some leftovers in the Windows Registry which the ‘Your Uninstaller Pro’ didn’t remove. You should have used Revo Installer in the first place. Unfortunately, no other uninstaller can find them as the main program had bee removed already. Try running Regedit and see if you can find traces of Tuneup Utilities under the Software section. I’m not familiar with Tuneup Utilities so I can’t tell you exactly where to look.

How do I get into the registry of my computer? I have windows XP?

December 5th, 2012 7 comments

I don’t want to change anything – I know this can be disasterous if a person doesn’t know what they are doing in the registry. I just want to look at all the activity that has been made on the computer – including deleted stuff and chat room stuff as well. I think this is the way to do that. If there is a different way, please let me know what that might be.

Getting into the Windows Registry is very simple. From the Start Menu, select "Run" (or press the [Windows Logo Key] + [R]) and type in "regedit" (without the quotes), press [Enter].

The Registry provides much information about the stuff in your computer, but I think this is not the way to monitor what all activities that have taken place in your computer. One needs to have very advanced knowledge about the Registry to do the right thing in there and get the right information.

For example, chat room stuff are not stored in any part of the registry, simply because it is too trivial and large to be stored there. Registry is a place for critical system and program settings to be stored.

Deleted stuff can be viewed and maybe recovered using file recovery utilities, for example. Your chat history is accessible from right inside the messenger software, in most cases.

Why it preferable to backup the entire registry using the backup utility?

Dear Friend,

As far i understand you want to backup your computer. Once you have your windows recovery disks and installation disks you dont need to backup Windows registry because in any case you can recover your windows or reinstall them. You need to apply a backup strategy to protect your digital property such as photos, documents, music etc.

Best solution is to data backup with a safe backup software. I backup photos, backup documents to the cloud because i dont trust the external hard disks anymore. Hard disks can crash so unexpectedly and lose all your data.

I registered with backup-easy.com website that are powered by asigra and they offer a stable secure backup software and licensing is free, its free software and you pay few cents per GB you backup on their remote servers.

Backup Easy has also an instant calculator to calculate the package suit your needs:

TuneUp Utilities 2010 Registry Defrag black screen?

July 14th, 2011 1 comment

Ok, I ran the TuneUp Utilities 2010 registry defrag on my dads computer, and it needed to optimize. I try to restart the computer afterwards, but all I get is the white flashing underscore, after the Acer logo where it tells you to press F2 to access setup (BIOS Settings). I am not sure why it is not restarting, but I think it is because the defrag messed it up? I may need to install a different operating system, but as of now, I think that may be my only option. Please help

Hmm, that’s an odd result and one we’ve never heard before. Did your dad’s PC have a virus or a hardware problem? If the PC is ok and virus free, then follow these instructions to set everything right again. This will get a bit technical but it’s really not that difficult and we’ll walk you through it.

Since TuneUp Utilities just runs an analysis of your Windows registry, the defragmentation itself runs on a boot version of Windows (the same pipe in which Windows would run a ChkDsk, for example).

Depending on the operating system you are using, you should try the repair and recovery function from your OS’s original CD. This will let you edit the registry, remove the boot, and execute the entry of TuneUp Utilities. If the TuneUp Utilities’ boot application is causing the problem, this should fix the issue. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

Open this path in registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager
Check the value of BootExecute (it should look like autocheck autochk *)
Remove anything else entered in this value and reboot

If this doesn’t solve the problem, it most likely isn’t TuneUp Utilities, but contact our tech support directly and we’ll try to help you anyway.

Does Xp Repair Pro Really Repair Your Pc Errors?

March 6th, 2011 2 comments

A new pc or computer, like a new car is fast when you first bring it home, but after a few miles it slows down and can leave you stranded. Registry Cleaner software is like the best car mechanic; it can diagnose problems, fix broken down components, free up stuck mechanisms and get your computer back to speeding down the Internet highway.

You want to scan and optimize your registry, right? But there’s a ton of different products out there. Well relax. The XP Repair Pro is different from the others. It is not just a registry repair too. It has together an advanced registry editor, crash monitor and a startup program manager.

XP Repair Pro is a popular system utility that is designed to allow any computer user to quickly and easily repair common errors that occur in Windows and thousands of other software titles. Whether you are experiencing system errors, system lockups or if your computer just seems to be running slowly, XP Repair Pro’s useful tools will help revive your PC without having to spend hundreds of dollars to a computer tech to do what you can do yourself. With just the click of a button, you can quickly restore your computer back to its like new condition.

XP Repair Pro offeres the Stop-Starting feature that acts as a start-up manager. Another useful feature is the Advanced Registry Editor that allows manual adaptation of registry settings. This though is probably best used with a good deal of knowledge of how a Windows registry works and most people will not even use it.

Another great feature of this Registry Cleaner is that it offers live updates. What this means is that the program will check for updates each time you run it and install the updates, rather than making you have to go to the website and download these updates manually.

The XP Repair Pro has one of the best support structures of any registry cleaner. The internet site linked to the registry repair program is full of information about how to work the program and also other frequently asked questions. Additionally there is a system where support tickets can be completed to ask about technical issues.

Easy Clean Registry Cleaner-Fix Your Computer Right Now!

February 18th, 2011 No comments

You will definitely know when there is something wrong with your computer because it will show you the signs. Slow startup, frequent need for a reboot, freezing of important tasks, intermittent freezing, or worst your Windows crashes and you need to reformat. If you’re still at the earlier symptoms stage, an easy-clean registry cleaner quick fix can do the trick.

The Windows registry is one very important file structure in the computer that acts as the database for every little thing you feed to or take out from your computer. Information about the software installations, the uninstalling, or change of settings that you regularly do in your computer, are kept in a cache, which is the registry, and the data stays there. The accumulated data, which include so many unused keys from so many uninstall procedures, spyware, adware, and other trash files pile up and clog the system.

A nice, easy clean registry cleaner, which can be downloaded from the Internet, can help clear up the clutter and possibly give your PC some breathing space. But, you have to carefully choose which one to use because there are so many registry cleaners that do more harm than good. To be sure about what you’re using, check the reviews of reputable sources like CNet or PC World so you can avoid getting the pests like adware or pretentious and virus-infected registry cleaner wannabes.

To help you find the best easy clean registry cleaner among the bevy of software fixes available online, here are some points to guide you:

? Check for a free scan. A good easy clean registry cleaner should give a free trial or scan before you decide to buy. This will allow you to test the program first, check the interface, and see if you can easily use it. This will also let you know if you really have a registry problem or not.

? Check for backup facility. The backup system is something that is overlooked in most registry cleaner review sites but is it very important. The registry cleaner must have a backup utility so you can undo things if ever you need to. Having no backup poses danger to your system since you can’t retrieve the previous information that has been changed.

? Check for options to do manual and automatic repair. A very good registry cleaner offers an option for manual repair. After a scan, the registry cleaner presents the actual condition and some recommendations. The user will decide and do the changes himself. The automatic option is for the program to do the changes on its own.

? Check for a guarantee of functionality. Before spending your money on something, make sure it works first and it suits your requirements. There are many software application providers that offer 30- or 60-day guarantees. This allows the user to test the package first, run it for the entire trial period and decide if he’s going to get the full package. If not, he can refund what he paid for the easy clean registry cleaner. Some people abuse this offer but nonetheless, people can run them without any risk.

Is there a way to register or use Sims 2 if you have lost the number?

February 16th, 2011 3 comments

We had purchased Sims2 and originally installed and registered it on the laptop in our home. The laptop crashed and is away for repair. My daughter wanted to play on our PC. When she set it up on the PC it wanted her to enter the registration number again. Problem is we have lost the case with the number on it. Is there a way to use this game anyway without registration?

What you can do is log onto the EA site (I’ll give links) and your registration codes will be right there, plain as day!

Registry Repair Software Review: Easy Solutions For A Slow Computer

February 15th, 2011 No comments

When you are having computer problems, most likely the computers registry is the culprit. The registry used by the windows is basically a kind of database for everything that is present on the computer.

For example, when we start up a program on our PC like our word processor, then a query is sent by the computer to the registry to find out where the software is stored. The registry generally holds all the programs settings and other configurations and for that reason it is extremely necessary to ensure the stability of the system.  This is the time to review your PC safety precautions and have some registry repair software on your hard drive.

The major cause for Windows registry instability can be installation or uninstallation of some poorly programmed software on the computer. This then leads to many problems because the registry is regarded as the framework on which the entire system depends. One weak link can therefore lead to catastrophic errors like system slow down and data loss and corruption. If this happens then it is urgent that you use your registry repair software to fix your system.

Sometimes registry issues can cause very serious errors.  There can be corruption of system files, extreme slowdowns, or your system may not boot up at all.   In this case it becomes extremely important to use your registry repair software to avoid a serious loss of data.   Don’t ignore registry problems – they don’t get better on their own, so download a highly-reviewed registry utility today and protect your valuable data.

Why Do We Need a Registry Cleaner?

February 9th, 2011 4 comments

Experiencing a Slow Boot up for your PC? Have windows registry errors that need some repair? Not a trouble there are numerous software titles available to fix just those issues. The problem is actually more to do with choosing which one of these programs will do the best job for you. Locating a good registry cleaner
in the mass of middle of the road programs can take some time, and you want to be sure you get the right program the first time. Hence this article, I’m going to go over what you need to know and look for before you spend a dime on registry repair.

Perfect Optimizer are a Must

All good registry cleaners likely have a free trial option. Most time this free trial consists of a free scan of your registry system. This does two things, one it helps you determine if indeed you have registry related troubles, and the other one it helps the companies because if their programs do what they promise to do , then you’re more likely to buy it. Are you looking for a product that offers a free trial that you can test before you have to buy something?Perfect Optimizer is just the one.

Know that you can Create a Backup

Most review sites and articles don’t often discuss how important this fact is, but always get a registry repair program that offers a backup utility. Backing up your current registry troubles ensures that you have a way to undo any changes that the software makes .But you’re not happy with it. Using a program without a backup feature, or not knowing how to create the backup yourself in windows is a dangerous situation that maybe happen in the future.

Perfect Optimizer:Auto or Manual Repairing

Being able to manually review the items the software finds after the scan is a nice feature for those that are a bit beyond a beginner level. For those of us that don’t feel comfortable with any of this and just want our computers to work better now, we just opt for the auto repair features that most programs have. For those that want that extra bit of hands in control, they look for a cleaner with a manual repair option.

Perfect Optimizer:Get a better Guarantee

This is a very big point to consider before you spend much money on a registry cleaner. Most software products, especially those that have big claims of speeding up the performance of your PC have some sort of guarantees. Look for a good registry cleaner that has a money back guarantee of at least 30 days. This ensures that if you’re not happy with the performance you can always request your money back.

Perfect Optimizer:Use Product Reviews to Decide

So you know what you need to look for now. It’s time to head out and do your home work. The best way to get this done in a hurry from my experience is to use registry cleaner review sites to read articles about each cleaner, as well as cross compare the features of each product in detail.

Begin your research now by reading our registry cleaner review site. And save time and get started with our top registry cleaner.
